New Project Released Today:
"It's In Your Jeans" Project
For each pair of torn, damaged , or unwanted denim donated to a drop off location, Bone & Rust Art Co. will donate a canned good to The Clarksdale Care Station. If you participate you will be helping the environment and the local community. Please spread the word and tell your friends to "Drop Their Jeans" off at a participating drop-off location! I started this project recently after discovering a pair of American Eagle jeans that had ripped by the back pocket a few months after I had bought them. I had tucked them away for a project later and I ended up discovering them and started patching and sewing them up. The ideas to star a program/project that put all the torn, damaged, and unwanted denim into new repurposed creations like: bags, clothing, totes, apons & bow ties. Each piar of jeans will be given new life weather it's turned into one item or twelve different creations. So far I have only gotten one shop downtown to agree to help me with my project. Today I went to The Shoppe Downtown and talked to the owner and got her to agree to collect and hold donated denim in a box and call me when it gets full. All you need to do is gater up your old torn, damaged, or unwanted jeans ant then stop by a designated drop-off location and tell them that you want to "Drop Your Jeans"... I intend to get at least three more shops and businesses in downtown Clarksdale to join the project and become a participating drop-off location. I will be scouting out future locations tomorrow. I have a few in mind and went to one of them today, but the owner wasn't there so I didn't stick around. I will go back latter and try and catcg her when she's at the store. I hope to have a good bit of inventory by this year's Juke Joint Festival (which is in April). I am starting the project off with six of my personal pairs of worn out jeans that aren't up to par with wearing anymore, but will be better suited as recycled creations. If you would like to get involved: contact me by email. [boneandrustartco@gmail.com] or visit us on Intagram & Facebook! Stay tuned because I will be posting more details, updates, and project news along the journey.
